Fund-Raiser Reminder, Summer Plans, & Preschool Registration

Our fund-raiser ends this Thursday, April 4^th.  Please return money to exchange for the Peel-to-Save cards on or before that day.

We need to know as soon as possible about everyone’s plans for this summer for daycare and tutoring so we can know how make sure we have enough spots for everyone.

We have already started registering kids for next year for preschool.  We have a few spots left, including the kids returning from this year.  If you know of anyone interested, please have them get with us soon.

Peel-to-Save Cards Fundraiser

We’re selling Peel-to-Save Cards for a fundraiser through Thursday, April 4^th.  Each card costs $10 and we get $5 back from each card sold.  We’re working towards raising money to buy a generator for the school.  Please collect money for the cards and return the money at any time before or at the end of the fundraiser to receive the cards.  Attached is a sheet that shows all of the coupons that are on the cards and a script to use when selling them.  Please use the attached form to take orders for the cards and the envelope to collect money.  For every 10 cards you sell you get one free.

Each card includes coupons for Golden Corral, Casa Brava, McDonald’s, Marco’s Pizza, Family Video, Jiffy Treat, Celebrations Play Center, Johnny Junxions, El Compadre, Smokin Jims BBQ, Papa John’s, Captain D’s, UPS, Gasoline Alley Marathon, Big O Tires, Chicago’s Pizza, Burger King, Orange Leaf, and Patrick Price Hitting.  The cards expire June 30, 2020.

Sunshine School and Extended Care Fundraiser

We’re having a fundraiser selling Peel-to-Save coupon cards.  We’re selling Lawrence County cards for $10 each.  We will be selling them from October 8^th to the 29^th.  These are great for Christmas stocking stuffers and Christmas and birthday presents for family, friends, co-workers, pastors, hairstylists, mail and newspaper delivery people, etc.  Included is an order form to take orders with and an envelope to put money in.  On the back of the order form is a picture of what the card looks like.  Money is due when ordering them.  You can return the order form and money at any time through the end of the fundraiser to get your cards.

The Lawrence County cards include coupons for Golden Corral, McDonald’s, Casa Brava, Chicago’s Pizza, Heaven’s Gardens (at the Lighthouse Christian Bookstore), Papa John’s, Kingpins Bowl, French Lick West Baden Indoor Karting, Burger King, UPS, Johnny Junxions, El Compadre, Mr. Gatti’s, Penn Station, Big O Tires, Dunham’s Sports, Gasoline Alley Marathon, and Jiffy Treat.  There are also discounts on the back for Sam’s Club, Lighthouse Christian Bookstore, Gasoline Alley Car Wash, UPS, and Mr. Gatti’s Gattiland, with more discounts to register for online.  These discounts can be used over and over until the card expires.  The cards expire on December 31, 2014.

The fundraiser is to pay for the Clifford magazines and the new stuffed animals and doll storage.  We are also looking into getting a generator.

Just a reminder: The Peel-to-Save Fundraiser money is due next Tuesday, October 30^th.  Please return the money in exchange for the cards by that day.

Also, the Harvest party is next Wednesday, October 31^st.  The children need to come to class in costume dressed as something related to farming or autumn.  Children who come Tuesdays and Thursdays only should come Wednesday and Tuesday or Thursday instead next week.  Will the following children’s mothers please send a special treat for our party:  Micah Adams, Reece Brummett, and Mylee Burnette.  Presently there are 13 children and 2 teachers in the class.

The cards expire June 30, 2013.  We will be selling cards again in the spring that will expire June 30, 2014 so that you can have coupons to use year round. 

The fundraiser is to pay for the Clifford magazines, a new balance beam, and a new toy chest.

Thank you for sending all of the delicious snacks at the beginning of each month.

We will begin going through the alphabet again.  This time we will work on objects beginning with that letter, color pictures, and write the letters. 

This month we are also working on a unit called “All About Me;” positions; writing their name; and learning to tie their shoes, and say addresses, phone numbers, and birthdays.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our fund-raiser.  Our top three sellers were Briley Hyde, Maya & Ava Hurst, and Chelsey Harper.  We made $310.00.  Thank you.

On Tuesday, February 14^th, we will have a Valentine’s Day Party and Valentine Day Card Exchange.  We will be making Valentine’s Delivery Trucks for our valentine cards.  Please do not put any names on the valentine envelopes.  Each child sends one to everyone in the class, but they just sign their names on the back of the card and leave the envelope blank.  There are 12 children in the class.  The cards may be brought February 7^th-9^th. 

Will the following children’s mothers please send a special snack for our Valentine Party:  Owen Robbins, Isaiah Sasser, and Devin Silvers.

REMINDER:  If the North Lawrence schools are called off for weather reasons, we will also be called off.  Also, if there is a two-hour delay, class will be from 10:00-12:00.

Christmas Caroling and Fund-Raiser Reminders

We are going Christmas Caroling this Thursday, December 8^th, to the stores in Oolitic.  Please dress your child warmly.

Thank you for sending snacks. They are very much appreciated. We presently have 23 in the class. Please send a snack at the beginning of each month.

We made $582.21 from our fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who participated. Also thank you to Maria Terry, our coordinator. We will be working on shelving during Christmas vacation.

We will be sending home advent chains on December 4th. The children should take off one candy cane each day starting at the bottom beginning on December 4th. When they take off the last one, the next day will be Christmas.

We are going Christmas Caroling on Thursday, December 13th, to the stores in Oolitic and the Morning Kindergarten Class at Dollens. We will need parents to help and drive.

Our Sleepover will be on Friday, November 30th. This is to give you an evening to shop or wrap presents. Older siblings are welcome to come to the Sleepover also. It will begin at 7:00 on Friday evening. We will be going Christmas caroling first. If you can help with this, please let us know. The children need to bring a sleeping bag or bed roll, pajamas, pillow, clothes for Saturday, and one favorite stuffed animal. Please put your child’s name on everything. Santa Claus will come around 9:00 pm to hear what the children want for Christmas. You will need to pick up your child by 10:00 Saturday morning. We will have breakfast here. There is a $10.00 charge for the Sleepover. Please let us know by November 27th if your child will be attending so we can plan for breakfast.

On Thursday, December 20th, we will have our Christmas Party and Gift Exchange. The gift should cost around $5.00. The boys need to bring a boy’s gift and the girl’s need to bring a girl’s gift. Will the following children’s mothers send a special snack for the party: Willie Flynn, Cooper Holmes, Nora Howat, Gracie Kinser, Jarod Lewis, and Brylie Murphy.

Our last day before Christmas Vacation is December 20th. We resume school on January 8th. The last day we will have extended care will be December 21st. We will resume extended care on January 3rd.

We hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.

Preschool/Daycare Fundraiser

We are doing a Home Interior fundraiser for the preschool and daycare. It is from Tuesday, October 16th to Tuesday, October 30th. We need your payment when you order, and checks can be made out to Maria Terry. We don’t have to pay sales tax, but there is a 10% shipping charge on the candles only. We are going to use this to buy shelves for the library and to go towards buying new playground equipment. Thank you for your help.
