Reminder: No Daycare or Preschool May 18th and Graduation

Reminder:  There will not be any daycare or preschool on this Thursday, May 18^th.  This is so we can get ready for preschool graduation that night.  We will reopen regular hours on Friday, May 19^th.

Graduation will be this Thursday, May 18^th at 7:00 p.m.  All the graduates need to be here at 6:45 to get ready.  Graduation will begin at 7:00 for parents, relatives, and friends.  It will be here at the preschool.  Graduation is only for the kids who will be attending kindergarten next year.  The children will be wearing caps and gowns.  Girls—please do not wear ponytails or anything on top of your head.  Refreshments will follow the ceremony.

May 2017 Newsletter

Week of April 25th to 27th:  Begin Dinosaurs Unit (Brontosaurus, Allosaurus, and Stegosaurus), the Environment, and May Day

Week of May 2nd to 4th:  Continue Dinosaurs Unit (Pteranodon, Triceratops, and Tyrannosaurus Rex) and the Environment

Week of May 9th to 11th:  Mother's Day, Stranger Danger, and the Environment

Week of May 16th to 17th:  Summer, Summer Birthdays, Memorial Day, Last Day of School

May 18th:  No School or Daycare, Graduation at 7:00

We will be continuing to practice graduation songs this month.

There will not be any class or extended care on Thursday, May 18^th.  For students not graduating, cost for the week will be $20.  For students graduating it will be $30.

No School Friday, Yes Daycare

There will not be any school this Friday, April 21^st, because it’s a snow make-up day.  We will be open for daycare regular times.  Please let us know if your kids will be coming.  Kids need to bring a lunch with a drink and a blanket and pillow.

Spring Mill Field Trip Reminder

Next Thursday, April 20^th, is our field trip to Spring Mill from 9:00 to 2:00.  Please let us know if you can drive and/or help us.  We need to know by Tuesday, April 18^th, if you can go and help us.  We still need help.  Class will start at 8:30. We will leave at 9:00 and be back by 2:00.  Everyone needs to bring a sack lunch (paper or plastic bag—no lunchboxes) and 2 cans of pop or juice.  Please remember to bring a jacket and wear tennis shoes (no sandals or flip flops).  This is our only field trip.

Thank you for everyone who participated in our fund-raiser.  We made $695.00 towards a new gate.

Fund-Raiser Reminder

Just a reminder:  Our Peel-to-Save Card fund-raiser runs through tomorrow, Tuesday, March 21^st.  We need all money by then and can give you the cards in return.  Remember, for every 10 cards you sell you get a free card.

Sunshine School and Extended Care Fundraiser

We’re having a fundraiser selling Peel-to-Save coupon cards.  We’re selling Lawrence County cards for $10 each.  We will be selling them from Tuesday, March 7^th to Tuesday, March 21^st.  These are great for gifts for family, friends, co-workers, teachers, etc.  You can take orders and money for the cards and return them to receive the cards.  Included are an order form to take orders with and an envelope to put money in.  On the back of the order form is also a picture of what the card looks like.  Money is due when ordering them.  You can return the order form and money at any time through the end of the fundraiser to get your cards.  You get 1 free card for every 10 cards sold.

The Lawrence County cards include coupons for Golden Corral, McDonald’s, Celebrations! Play Center, Orange Leaf, El Compadre, UPS, Big O Tires, Marco’s Pizza, Family Video, Burger King, Papa John’s, Johnny Junxions, Casa Brava, Penn Station, Gasoline Alley Marathon, Chicago’s Pizza, and Jiffy Treat.  There are also discounts on the back for Sam’s Club, UPS, and Gasoline Alley Car Wash, with more discounts to register for online.  These on the back can be used over and over until the card expires.  The cards expire on June 30, 2018.

The fundraiser is to pay for a new gate at the driveway.

March 2017 Newsletter

We will be closed the week of March 13^th.  There will be no school or daycare.

We will be evaluating the students that will be going to kindergarten next year.  Go to and click on "Community" menu near the top of the screen for dates and information about kindergarten screening at different elementary schools.  If your child will be attending kindergarten next year, make sure and call their school to make an appointment for kindergarten screening on their school’s day.  Children must turn 5 on or before August 1^st.

Our Fundraiser this year is the Lawrence County Peel-to-Save cards.  It will be from March 7^th to 21^st.  More information to follow.

Valentines and Valentine’s Day Party Reminder

Just a reminder:  Valentine cards need to be brought tomorrow and Thursday, February 8^th and 9^th.  Please do not put any other children’s names on the card’s outside or envelopes.  Each child sends one to everyone in the class, but they just sign their own names on the back of the cards.  There are currently 18 in the class. 

On Tuesday, February 14^th, we will have a Valentine’s Day Party and Valentine Day Card Exchange.  Will the following children’s please send a special snack for our party:  Amelia McDowell, Austin Myers, and R.J. Peabody.

We will be studying about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.  Your child should know many interesting facts about them by the end of the month.

On Tuesday, February 14^th, we will have a Valentine’s Day Party and Valentine Day Card Exchange.  We will be making Valentine’s Delivery Trucks for our valentine cards.  Please do not put any other children’s names on the card’s outside or envelopes.  Each child sends one to everyone in the class, but they just sign their own names on the back of the cards.  There are currently 19 people in the class.  The cards should be brought February 8^th and 9^th.

Will the following children’s mothers please send a special snack for our Valentine Party:  Kara Kenney, Amelia McDowell, Austin Myers, and R.J. Peabody.

We will be evaluating the students that will be entering kindergarten next year beginning the week of February 28^th.

Sleepover and Snow Days Reminder

Just a reminder:  Our Sleepover is this Friday, December 9^th.  This is to give you an evening to shop or wrap presents.  Older siblings are welcome to come to the Sleepover also.  It will begin at 7:00 on Friday evening.  The children need to wear their pajamas here and bring a sleeping bag or bedroll, pillow, and one favorite stuffed animal.  Please put your child’s name on everything.  We will be writing letters to Santa Claus and doing other Christmas activities, songs, books, and movies.  You will need to pick up your child by 10:00 Saturday morning.  We will have breakfast here.  There is a $10 charge for the Sleepover.  Please let us know by Tuesday, December 6^th, if your child will be attending so we can plan for breakfast and activities. 

Another option for the Sleepover is to just come Friday evening until 10:00 for the activities.  That would be a $5 charge.

Snow Day Reminder:  We are open for snow days regular hours, 6:30 to 5:30.  Each child needs to bring a lunch with a drink and a blanket and pillow, if they don’t already have one here.

Picture Money and Harvest Party Reminders

First reminder:  Picture money is due today, October 25^th.  Please send the money as soon as possible.  We also need the proofs sheet back if possible even if you are not ordering pictures.

Second reminder:  This Thursday, October 27^th, we will be having our Harvest Party, instead of a Halloween Party.  The children need to come to class dressed as something related to farming or autumn (or at least not scary).  Will the following children please bring a special treat for our party:  Lincoln Blevins, Haslei Crafton, Ryder Crane, and Adelyn Day.  We divide the class up to have some kids bringing snacks to each party.
