December 2024 Newsletter

Week of December 3rd to 5th -- Begin Numbers Unit,  Numbers 1-2 and 3-4, Shapes -- Diamonds and Ovals, Christmas, and Christmas Around the World:  Africa, Mexico, and England

Please remember to have your child bring something for Show and Tell on their assigned day.  This is important, as it is their first public speaking.

 

We will be sending home advent chains on December 3^rd.  The children should take off one candy cane each day starting at the bottom beginning today, Tuesday, December 3^rd.  When they take off the last one, the next day will be Christmas, so count the sticker as Christmas Day.

 

On Thursday, December 19^th, we will have our Christmas Party and Gift Exchange.  The gift should cost around $5.00.  The boys need to bring a boy’s gift and the girls need to bring a girl’s gift.  Please bring your gift by Thursday, December 12^th.  Will the following children please bring a special snack for the party:  Linkin Todd and Rena Ball.  There are 5 people in the class.

 

Our last day of school before Christmas Vacation is December 19^th.  We will resume school on January 7^th.  The last day for extended care will be December 20^th.  We will resume extended care on January 6^th.

May Reminders

We will be having class next Tuesday, May 7^th, Primary Day, even though NLCS will be closed.  We will be open regular hours for daycare that day also.

 

·       There will not be any class or extended care on Thursday, May 9^th.  For students not graduating, cost for the week will be $28.  For students graduating it will be $42.  We will be open regular hours on Friday, May 10^th.

 

·       Graduation will be Thursday, May 9^th at 6:30 p.m.  All the graduates need to be here by 6:15 to get ready.  Graduation will begin at 6:30 for parents, relatives, and friends.  It will be here at the preschool.  Graduation is only for the kids who will be attending kindergarten next year.  The children will be wearing caps and gowns.  Girls—please do not wear ponytails or anything on top of your head. 

 

·       Please let us know soon if your child will be coming for daycare this summer.  We will be closed for Memorial Day, May 27^th, and for 2 weeks, July 1^st to 12^th, but open the rest of the summer. We will be learning about some Bible stories on Thursdays in June from 9:00 to 1:00.  We will share more information later.

 

·       Rena will be tutoring children this summer.  This is for children going into kindergarten through Algebra.  If you are interested, please let us know.  We are trying to finalize that schedule.

 

·       If you have a child or know of someone who might be interested in school for next year, they need to let us know soon.  Registration is $100 and is due by June 28^th.

May 2024 Newsletter

Week of April 30 to May 2nd -- Continue Dinosaur Unit: Pteranodon, Triceratops, and Tyrannosaurus Rex; Mother's Day Surprise

Week of May 7th and 8th -- Summer Birthdays, Summer, Baseball, Last Day of School, and Memorial Day

May 9th -- No School

 

We will be continuing to practice graduation songs this month.

We will have class Tuesday, May 7th.  NLCS is closed for Primary Day, but we will be open since we're closed on Thursday.

 

There will not be any class or extended care on Thursday, May 9^th.  For students not graduating, cost for the week will be $28.  For students graduating it will be $42.

Just a reminder:  We will be open like normal next Monday and Tuesday, November 23^rd and 24^th.  However, we will be closed for preschool and daycare next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, November 25-27 for Thanksgiving Break.  Preschool will be $12 for the week.

Summer 2020 Calendar

 May 25^th -- Memorial Day (Closed)

Daycare rates are $2 per child for the first hour each day and then $1 an hour per child after that.  Please let us know in advance if your child will or will not be attending.  We’re open 6:30-5:30.  Children need to bring a lunch, a drink, and a fork and/or spoon if needed.  We do not microwave.  Children also need to bring a blanket and pillow for rest time after lunch.

Please bring a package of napkins (200-count package) for the summer.

Rena will be tutoring between 9:00 and 5:30 this summer.  Please let her know as soon as possible if you are interested.

March 2020 Newsletter

We will be closed the week of March 23^rd.  There will be no school or daycare.

REMINDER:  If the North Lawrence schools are called off because of the weather, we will also be called off.  Also, if there is a two-hour delay, class will be from 10:00-1:00.  Daycare will still be open regular hours.

If we miss 1 school day because of weather, you still need to pay for that day.  If we miss 2 or 3 days any one week, you still pay for the 1 day that week.

We are having a Parents’ Night Out on December 7^th from 7:00 to 10:00 pm.  We will have crafts, videos, snacks, songs, and books.  The cost will be $5 per child.  Older siblings are welcome to come too.  We hope that this will give you an evening to shop, wrap gifts, or just relax.  We need to know if your kids are coming by Monday, December 3^rd so we can plan.
