January 2023 Newsletter

Week of January 3rd to 5th -- A & B Week, Begin Positions Unit--Under & On, 9 & 10, New Year's, Winter, and All About Me

Week of January 10th to 12th -- C & D Week, In & Between Week, Begin Writing Names, Begin Tying Shoes, Dentists, Martin Luther King Jr., Winter, andAll About Me

Week of January 17th to 19th -- E & F Week, Beside & Behind Week, Begin Addresses & Phone Numbers, Eskimos, Friends, Winter, and All About Me

Week of January 24th to 26th -- Positions Review and Winter

We will begin going through the alphabet again.  This time we will work on objects beginning with each letter, color pictures, and write the letters.

 

This month we are also working on a unit called “All About Me”; positions; Martin Luther King Jr., writing their names; and learning to tie their shoes, addresses, phone numbers, and birthdays.

 

On Tuesday, February 14^th, we will have a Valentine’s Day Party and Valentine Card Exchange.  We will be making Valentine Delivery Trucks for our valentine cards.  Please do not put any other children’s names on the card’s outside or envelopes.  Each child sends one to everyone else in their class, but they just sign their own names on the back of the cards.  There are currently 12 in the class.  The cards should be brought by February 9^th.

 

Will the following children please send a special snack for our Valentine Party:  Eddy Koch, Saylor Lybrook, and Beretta Wright.

 

Reminder:  If the North Lawrence schools are called off because of the weather, we also won’t have class, but will have daycare.  Also, if there is a two-hour delay, class will be from 10:00—1:00, and daycare will still be open regular hours.

December 2022 Newsletter

Week of November 29th to December 1st:  Begin Number Unit, Numbers 1 & 2,  Numbers 3 & 4, Christmas

Week of December 6th to 8th:  Numbers 3 & 4, Numbers 5 & 6, Christmas

Week of December 13th to 15th:  Numbers 7 & 8, Numbers 9 & 10, Christmas

December 20th:  Christmas Party and Gift Exchange--$5 gift

 

 Please remember to have your child bring something for Show and Tell on their assigned day.  This is important, as it is their first public speaking.

 

We will be sending home advent chains on December 1^st.  The children should take off one candy cane each day starting at the bottom beginning today, Thursday, December 1^st.  When they take off the last one, the next day will be Christmas, so count the sticker as Christmas Day.

 

On Tuesday, December 20^th, we will have our Christmas Party and Gift Exchange.  The gift should cost around $5.00.  The boys need to bring a boy’s gift and the girls need to bring a girl’s gift.  Please bring your gift by Thursday, December 15^th.  Will the following children please bring a special snack for the party:  Brynlee Plocher, Lucas Stewart, and Lochlan Wilson.  There are 10 people in the class.

Our last day of school before Christmas Vacation is December 20^th.  We will resume school on January 3^rd.  The last day will we have extended care will be December 20^th.  We will resume extended care on January 3^rd.
