Extended Care

* If you don’t pay by 5:30 on Friday there is a $5 charge.

·    * We need to know by 2:30 if your child will not be here or there will be a $2 charge.

I   * If your child is not picked up by 5:30 there is a $1 charge for every 5 minutes.

October 2017 Newsletter

Week of October 3rd to 5th--O & P Week, Owls, Pumpkins, Pizzas, Fall, Cut Waves Week

Week of October 10th to 12th--Q & R Week, Quilts, Raccoons, Safety, Christopher Columbus, Fall

Week of October 17th to 19th--Fall Break--Closed

Week of October 24th to 26th--S Week, Scarecrows, Squirrels, Cutting Review Week, Safety
October 36th--Harvest Party


In our safety unit we are presenting dangers and what to do or how to avoid them.  We want the children to be aware.  If you have any questions, please let us know.

Please remember to call us before class starts if your child is not going to be here.

We will be closed for Fall Break for preschool from October 17th to 19th.  We will also be closed for daycare from October 16th to 20th.

On Thursday, October 26th, we will be having our Harvest Party, instead of a Halloween Party.  The children need to come to class dressed as something related to farming or autumn (or at least not scary).  Will the following children please bring a special treat for our party:  Bryleigh Baker, Ryder Crane, and Adelyn Day.  We divide the class up to have some kids bringing snacks to each party.  There are 12 people in the class.

About Your Teachers

          Rohnda is married to Bob, who is a retired fisheries research biologist at the Avoca Fish Hatchery.  She has two daughters—Rena (see below) and Robyn.  Rohnda has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University in elementary education with a minor in kindergarten.  She holds a master’s degree from Indiana University in elementary education with an emphasis in early childhood.  Rohnda began teaching third grade at Brownstown Elementary.  This is her 32nd year to have Sunshine School.  Rohnda and Rena attend Englewood Baptist Church.  Rohnda likes to collect magnets and owls and to read, read, read, and read when she can find the time.


          Rena graduated from Milligan College in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and elementary education.  This is her 18th year teaching.  She likes to collect keychains, to read, shop, and watch sports, particularly IU basketball and the Atlanta Braves.

Fruity Picnic Reminder

Just a reminder:  We will be having our Fruity Picnic next Thursday, July 27th at 6:30 to finish up our classes on the Fruit of the Spirit.  Please bring something to share that is either fruit or has fruit in it that serves at least 12.  Bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.  We will have a program of memory verses and songs for each of our Fruit of the Spirit that we learned about.  Please let us know by this Thursday, July 20th, if your family will be attending.

Summer Class Notes

·         If you haven’t brought 200 napkins yet, please do soon.

·         On class weeks beginning Wednesday and Thursday, June 14th and 15th, we will have class from 9:00 to 1:00.  If kids are here those days they need to be here by 9:00 and stay until 1:00 so we know how many materials to get ready.  We need to know the Friday before if they will be here the following week.
