Christmas Party and Christmas Vacation Reminders

This Thursday, December 16^th, we will have our Christmas Party and Gift Exchange.  If you have not brought your gift for the gift exchange, bring it as soon as possible.  The gift should cost around $5.00.  The boys need to bring a boy’s gift and the girls need to bring a girl’s gift.  Will the following children’s mothers please send a special snack for the party:  Gracelyn Grogan, Lilah McCameron, and Barrett McDowell.  There are 15 in the class.

 

Our last day of school before Christmas Vacation is Thursday, December 16^th.  We will resume school on Tuesday, January 4^th.  The last day will we have extended care will be Friday, December 17^th.  We will resume extended care on Monday, January 3^rd.

2-Hour Delay, Maybe More

NLCS is having a 2-hour delay tomorrow, but it's subject to change by 8:00 am.  We will be open for daycare regular hours tomorrow, no matter what.  Preschool will be from 10:00 to 1:00, if they still end up going.  Thanks!

Week of January 26th to 28th -- G & H Week, Groundhogs, Hats, and Positions Review

January 28th--Wear a Hat Day

Week of February 2nd to 4th -- K & L Week, Kings, Library, and Abraham Lincoln

Week of February 9th to 11th -- I & J Week, Ice Cream, Jelly Beans, Valentine's Day

February 9th -- Valentines due at school

February 11th -- Valentine's Day Party

Week of February 16th to 18th -- M & N Week, Mice, and George Washington

We will be studying about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.  Your child should know many interesting facts about them by the end of the month.

 On Thursday, February 11^th, we will have a Valentine’s Day Party and Valentine's Day Card Exchange.  We will be making Valentine’s Delivery Trucks for our valentine cards.  Please do not put any other children’s names on the card’s outside or envelopes.  Each child sends one to everyone in the class, but they just sign their own names on the back of the cards.  There are currently 17 people in the class.  The cards should be brought by February 9^th.

 

Will the following children’s mothers please send a special snack for our Valentine Party:  Lincoln Melton, Ava Myers, and Ember Underwood.

 

REMINDER:  If the North Lawrence schools are called off because of the weather, we will also be called off.  Also, if there is a two-hour delay class will be from 10:00-1:00.  Daycare will still be open regular hours those days.

Hat Day Reminder

 Just a reminder:  Tomorrow, Thursday, January 28^th, is Hat Day here.  Please send your child to school wearing a hat.

Snow Make-Up Day

 This Monday, January 18^th, is a scheduled Snow Make-Up Day.  We will be open for daycare for regular hours that day.  Kids need to bring a lunch with a drink, a blanket, and pillow (if they don’t have one here already).

Week of January 5th to 7th -- A & B Week, Begin Positions--Under & On Week, 9 & 10, All About Me, and Winter

Week of January 12th to 14th -- C & D Week, In & Between Week, Dentists, All About Me, Winter, and Martin Luther King Day

Week of January 19th to 21st -- E & F Week, Eskimos, Friends, Winter, and All About Me

 

We will begin going through the alphabet again.  This time we will work on objects beginning with each letter, color pictures, and write the letters.

This month we are also working on a unit called “All About Me”; positions; writing their names; and learning to tie their shoes, addresses, phone numbers, and birthdays.
