School Picture Reminder

Preschool class pictures will be tomorrow, Thursday, September 17th, during school time.  Steve Sheldon will be coming down from Bloomington to take the pictures.  There will be both individual and class pictures taken.  Proofs will be sent home later and pictures can be ordered then.  Money is not needed when the pictures are taken.

Here are a few tips for clothing for Picture Day:

*  Make sure the outfit fits well and is not too large or small.

*  Solid colors are best.  Stripes and patterns detract from the face.

*  Individual portraits will be both close up nad full length.

*  Keep outfits simple.

Thank you for sending snacks.  They are very appreciated.  We have 19 people in the class.  Please send the snack at the beginning of each month.

If your child is sick or will not be attending, please call before class begins at 8:30.  If your child misses one day in a week, it’s still to be paid for.  If your child misses 2 days in a week, he will get credit for the second day the next week.

Please pay for the week by the last day of the week that your child is here or by arrangement.

Please put your child’s name on their coat, sweater, or any other items brought from home.  Please double knot your child’s shoes.

We will come out and get the children for class.  Please do not come inside the gate.  We will also bring the children back out to the gate after class.

Show and Tell will begin in October.

Labor Day Reminder Note

Just a reminder:  Next Monday, September 7^th, is Labor Day.  We will be closed that day.

Also, if your child also stays for extended care you need to pay on the last day of the week they are here or by arrangement.

August 2015 Newsletter

Week of August 18th to 20th--Red, Brown, and Orange Days; A & B Week; Alligators; Bears; and Back-to-School

Week of August 25th to 27th--Purple, Black, and Yellow Days; C & D Week; Cats; Carpenters; and Dogs

Week of September 1st to 3rd--Green and Blue Days, E & F Week, Eggs, Frogs, and Grandparents

This month your child will explore the world of learning and will develop many new basic skills.  Encourage your child to practice and develop these new skills.  During the coming weeks, we will study about colors, letters, alligators, bears, cats, dogs, carpenters, eggs, frogs, and grandparents.  Our calendar shows when we are studying each color and letter.  We will introduce a new color every day and two new letters each week.

We would ask you to send a snack for the class each month on the first day of the month.  There are currently 18 people in the class.  Example: If you send a package of cookies make sure that there will be two of the same cookies for each child.  Please send the same snack for everyone.

For the year, each child needs to bring the following:  1 package of napkins (200 count), 1 box of 5-ounce Dixie cups (200 count), and 1 box of tissues (200 count).  Please do not send larger-sized cups.

We are collecting Labels for Education labels (see list on back of this page for items included) and Tyson Project A+ labels from Tyson chicken products to earn points for items or money for the preschool and daycare.  Please send any that you might have throughout the year.
