Newsletter Change and Snow Day Pay Reminder

We need to make changes to the newsletter after not having class the last two days.  We took some things from this week, including the 9 and 10 pages, but for the most part we will be moving everything back a week.

Also, just a reminder that you pay for the first day missed in a week because sick, snow, etc.  So for this week, everyone that’s here today will pay for Tuesday and today.  Thanks.

Thank you for sending all of the delicious snacks at the beginning of each month.  We presently have 22 in the class.

We will begin going through the alphabet again.  This time we will work on objects beginning with that letter, color pictures, and write the letters.

This month we are also working on a unit called “All About Me;” positions; writing their names, learning to tie their shoes, and learning addresses, phone numbers, and birthdays.

After the Sleepover, we had kids get home with some of the wrong clothes.  We're missing a pair of jeans and a red and gray basketball shirt.  We have a pair of blue pants that got home with the wrong owner.  Thanks for your help!

On Thursday, February 13^th, we will have a Valentine’s Day Party and Valentine Day Card Exchange.  We will be making Valentine’s Delivery Trucks for our valentine cards.  Please do not put any other children’s names on the card’s outside or envelopes.  Each child sends one to everyone in their class, but they just sign their own names on the back of the cards.  There are currently 22 in the class.  The cards should be brought February 11^th and 12^th.

Will the following children’s mothers please send a special snack for our Valentine Party:  Cain Harper, Connor Sickel, Priscilla Sims, and Adyson Smith.

REMINDER:  If the North Lawrence schools are called off because of the weather, we will also be called off.  Also, if there is a two-hour delay, class will be from 10:00-12:00.

If we miss 1 school day because of weather, you still need to pay for that day.  If we miss 2 or 3 days of any one week, you only pay for 1 day missed that week.

Christmas Vacation Reminder

Our last day before Christmas Vacation is December 19^th.  We resume school on January 7^th.  The last day we will have extended care will be December 20^th.  We will resume extended care on January 6^th.

Thank you for sending snacks.  They are very much appreciated.  We presently have 21 in the class.  Please send a snack at the beginning of each month.

Please remember to have your child bring something for Show and Tell on their assigned day.  This is important as it is their first public speaking.

We will be sending home advent chains on December 3^rd.  The children should take off one candy cane each day starting at the bottom beginning on December 3^rd.  When they take off the last one, the next day will be Christmas.

Our Sleepover will be on Friday, December 20^th.  This is to give you an evening to shop or wrap presents.  Older siblings are welcome to come to the Sleepover also.  It will begin at 7:00 on Friday evening.  We will be going Christmas caroling first.  If you can help with this, please let us know.  The children need to bring a sleeping bag or bedroll, pajamas, pillow, clothes for Saturday, and one favorite stuffed animal.  Please put your child’s name on everything.  Santa Claus will come around 9:00 pm to hear what the children want for Christmas.  You will need to pick up your child by 10:00 Saturday morning.  We will have breakfast here.  There is a $10.00 charge for the Sleepover.  Please let us know by December 17th if your child will be attending so we can plan for breakfast.

On Thursday, December 19^th, we will have our Christmas Party and Gift Exchange.  The gift should cost around $5.00.  The boys need to bring a boy’s gift and the girl’s need to bring a girl’s gift.  Will the following children’s mothers please send a special snack for the party:  Zaryn Daugherty, Taylor Hyde, Taylor Knight, Dayton McDowell, and Bricton Moore.

Our last day before Christmas Vacation is December 19^th.  We resume school on January 7^th.  The last day we will have extended care will be December 20^th.  We will resume extended care on January 6^th.
