Christmas Vacation Reminder

Our last day before Christmas Vacation is December 19th.  We resume school on January 7th.  The last day we will have extended care will be December 20th.  We will resume extended care on January 6th.

We hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.

Christmas Party Reminder and Pay for Snow Days

This Thursday, December 19th, we will have our Christmas Party and Gift Exchange.  The gift should cost around $5.00.  The boys need to bring a boy’s gift and the girl’s need to bring a girl’s gift.  Will the following children’s mothers please send a special snack for the party:  Zaryn Daugherty, Taylor Hyde, Taylor Knight, Dayton McDowell, and Bricton Moore.

When there are snow days on a preschool day, you owe for the first day missed in a week, but not the rest.  Thanks.

December 2013 Newsletter

Week of December 3rd to 5th--Begin Numbers Unit; Numbers 1 & 2 and 3 & 4; Christmas; and Christmas in Africa, Mexico, and England

Week of December 10th to 12th--Numbers 3 & 4 and 5 & 6; Christmas; Christmas in France, Italy, and Germany

Week of December 17th to 19th--Numbers 7 & 8; Christmas; Christmas in Holland and Sweden
December 19th--Christmas Party and Gift Exchange--$5

December 20th--Sleepover


Thank you for sending snacks.  They are very much appreciated.  We presently have 21 in the class.  Please send a snack at the beginning of each month.

Please remember to have your child bring something for Show and Tell on their assigned day.  This is important as it is their first public speaking.

We will be sending home advent chains on December 3rd.  The children should take off one candy cane each day starting at the bottom beginning on December 3rd.  When they take off the last one, the next day will be Christmas.

Our Sleepover will be on Friday, December 20th.  This is to give you an evening to shop or wrap presents.  Older siblings are welcome to come to the Sleepover also.  It will begin at 7:00 on Friday evening.  We will be going Christmas caroling first.  If you can help with this, please let us know.  The children need to bring a sleeping bag or bedroll, pajamas, pillow, clothes for Saturday, and one favorite stuffed animal.  Please put your child’s name on everything.  Santa Claus will come around 9:00 pm to hear what the children want for Christmas.  You will need to pick up your child by 10:00 Saturday morning.  We will have breakfast here.  There is a $10.00 charge for the Sleepover.  Please let us know by December 17th if your child will be attending so we can plan for breakfast.

2-Hour Delay 12/12

There's another 2-hour delay tomorrow. Preschool will be from 10:00-12:00 and we will be open daycare like normal from 6:30-5:30.  Thanks.

Sleepover Postponed (Again!)

Due to the snow that is being predicted (again!) for Friday night and Saturday, we’re going to postpone the Sleepover until Friday, December 20th.  Please tell us by Tuesday, December 16th if your child will be attending.  Hopefully third time is the charm.  Thanks.

Also, if the kids can just come for Friday night if you want.  Unfortunately Santa can't come, as he had prior commitments.

Tuesday/Thursday Kids Tomorrow

If the kids who come on Tuesdays and Thursdays want to come tomorrow, if we have school, that's fine.  It's looking like we should (?) have at least a partial day, with maybe a 2-hour delay.  Thanks.

School Cancelled, But Daycare Open

School has been cancelled again for NLCS, so preschool is also cancelled.  We are open normal hours for daycare if you need us.  Thanks.

Christmas Caroling Cancelled

We will not be going Christmas caroling on Thursday, December 12th due to the very cold temperatures in the forecast for that morning.  If you can, please come in at 11:45 Thursday morning and we’ll sing to everyone.  Thanks.

School cancelled tomorrow 12/6

NLCS and Mitchell schools are called off for tomorrow, but we'll be open for daycare like normal from 6:30 to 5:30 if anyone needs us. The kids just need to bring a lunch with a drink. Stay safe tomorrow!

Sleepover Postponed

We are postponing the sleepover until next Friday, December 13th, due to the ice and snow expected tonight and tomorrow.  Please let us know by next Tuesday, December 10th, if you can come.  Thanks.
