January 2014 Newsletter

The newsletter is edited to reflect the changes we made after missing January 7th and 8th because of snow.  This is subject to change though.

Week of January 21st to 23rd--C & D Week, In & Between Week, All About Me, Dentist, Winter, Begin Writing Names, and Begin Tying Shoes

Week of January 28th to 30th--E & F Week, Beside & Behind Week, Eskimos, Friends, Begin Learning Addresses, and Winter

Week of February 4th to 6th--G & H Week, Positions Review, Groundhog's Day, Hats, Begin Learning Phone Numbers, and Winter

Thank you for sending all of the delicious snacks at the beginning of each month.  We presently have 22 in the class.

We will begin going through the alphabet again.  This time we will work on objects beginning with that letter, color pictures, and write the letters.

This month we are also working on a unit called “All About Me;” positions; writing their names, learning to tie their shoes, and learning addresses, phone numbers, and birthdays.

After the Sleepover, we had kids get home with some of the wrong clothes.  We're missing a pair of jeans and a red and gray basketball shirt.  We have a pair of blue pants that got home with the wrong owner.  Thanks for your help!

On Thursday, February 13^th, we will have a Valentine’s Day Party and Valentine Day Card Exchange.  We will be making Valentine’s Delivery Trucks for our valentine cards.  Please do not put any other children’s names on the card’s outside or envelopes.  Each child sends one to everyone in their class, but they just sign their own names on the back of the cards.  There are currently 22 in the class.  The cards should be brought February 11^th and 12^th.

Will the following children’s mothers please send a special snack for our Valentine Party:  Cain Harper, Connor Sickel, Priscilla Sims, and Adyson Smith.

REMINDER:  If the North Lawrence schools are called off because of the weather, we will also be called off.  Also, if there is a two-hour delay, class will be from 10:00-12:00.

If we miss 1 school day because of weather, you still need to pay for that day.  If we miss 2 or 3 days of any one week, you only pay for 1 day missed that week.
