August 2016 Newsletter

Week of August 23rd to 25th--Purple, Black, and Yellow Days; C & D Week; Cats; and Dogs

Week of August 30th to September 1st--Green & Blue Days, Color Review, E & F Week, Eggs, Frogs, and Grandparents


This month your child will explore the world of learning and will develop many new basic skills.  Encourage your child to practice and develop these new skills.  During this month we will study about colors, letters, airplanes, alligators, bears, cats, dogs, eggs, frogs, and grandparents.  Our calendar shows when we are studying each color and letter.  We will introduce a new color every day and two new letters each week.

For the year child needs to bring the following:  1 package of napkins (200 count) and 1 box of tissues (200 count).

If your child is sick or will not be attending, please call and let us know before class begins.  If your child misses one day in a week, it is still to be paid for.  If your child misses 2 days in a row, he will get credit for the second day the next week.

Please put your child’s name on their coat, sweater, or any other items brought from home.  Please double knot your child’s shoes.

We will come out and get the children for class.  Please do not come inside the gate.  We will also bring the children back out to the gate after class.  Also, please hand us any money or other things instead of putting them in the child’s backpacks.  Thank you.

Steve Sheldon, a photographer from Bloomington, will be here September 29^th to take individual and group pictures.  You will get proofs later so you can decide then which package you want to order.  No money is due when the pictures are taken.

Please be aware of personal hygiene such as brushing teeth and combing hair.  Girls need to wear shorts under dresses or skirts.

Show and Tell will begin in October.

We have a box with extra coupons if anyone is interested in them.  Please let us know if you are interested in looking through them.  We also collect expired coupons to send to the military at overseas bases.

Daycare rates are $1 an hour per child.  Please let us know in advance if your child will or will not be attending.  We’re open 6:30-5:30.  Children need to bring a lunch, a drink, and a fork and/or spoon if needed.  We do not microwave.  Children also need to bring a blanket and pillow for rest time after lunch.

Rena will be tutoring between 9:00 and 5:00 this summer.  Please let her know as soon as possible if you are interested.
