December Newsletter

Week of November 29th to December 1st--Begin Numbers Unit; 1 & 2; 3 & 4; Christmas; Christmas in Africa, Mexico, and England;  

December 2nd:  Sleepover--7:00 pm to 10:00 am, Christmas Caroling--7:00, Santa Claus 9:00, Cost $10

Week of December 6th to 8th--3 & 4; 5 & 6; Christmas; Christmas in France, Italy, and Germany

December 8th:  Christmas Caroling

Week of December 13th to 15th--7 & 8; Christmas; Christmas in Holland, Sweden, and Around the World

Thank you for sending snacks.  They are very much appreciated.  We presently have 14 in the class.  Please send a snack at the beginning of each month.

We will be sending home advent chains on December 1^st.  The children should take off one candy cane each day starting at the bottom beginning on December 1^st.  When they take off the last one, the next day will be Christmas.

Our Sleepover will be on Friday, December 2^nd.  This is to give you an evening to shop or wrap presents.  Older siblings are welcome to come to the Sleepover also.  It will begin at 7:00 on Friday evening.  We will be going Christmas caroling first.  If you can help with this, please let us know.  The children need to bring a sleeping bag or bed roll, pajamas, pillow, clothes for Saturday, and one favorite stuffed animal.  Please put your child’s name on everything.  Santa Claus will come around 9:00 pm to hear what the children want for Christmas.  You will need to pick up your child by 10:00 Saturday morning.  We will have breakfast here.  There is a $10.00 charge for the Sleepover.  Please let us know by November 29^th if your child will be attending so we can plan for breakfast.

We are going Christmas Caroling on Thursday, December 8^th, to the stores in Oolitic.  We will need parents to help and drive.

On Thursday, December 15^th, we will have our Christmas Party and Gift Exchange.  The gift should cost around $5.00.  The boys need to bring a boy’s gift and the girl’s need to bring a girl’s gift.  Will the following children’s mothers send a special snack for the party:  Chelsey Harper, Ava Hurst, Maya Hurst, and Briley Hyde.

Our last day before Christmas Vacation is December 15^th.  We resume school on January 3^rd.  The last day we will have extended care will be December 20^th.  We will resume extended care on January 3^rd.
